Factors influencing chatting behavior in internet among early adult women: a preliminary survey

In cyber era, society was offered an activities involve social interaction such as chatting in internet. This study was carried out to determine the factors and purpose among early women involves in chatting activities. Forty seven women from four different Cyber Cafés was recruited for this study with range age from 20-40 years old. Self constructed questionnaires were used to data collections. Result showed that most of the respondent chat in internet are single 82.9% and most of them have degree 55.3%. Besides that, 68.1% respondent reported involved in chatting because of cyber friends. Futhtermore 36.2% respondent involved in chatting because of addition where everyday with minimum of 3 hours per day. Beside that, 38.8% and 34% respondent engaged in chatting due to boring and loneliness.
