Web Quest technique as an applied model for teaching Islamic Jurisprudence Courses in Malaysian Universities

This paper comes as an attempt to answer a number of research questions: What is web quest technique? How its idea is originated? What is its history and educational philosophy? What are the levels of web quest technique? What are its elements? What are the foundations and criteria that must be taken into account in its design? What advantages of web quest through the teaching of Islamic jurisprudence? Moreover, the study displays an application form for this web quest technique through the provisions of divorce theme. This study has followed the descriptive analytical method, the study has found that the web quest technique depends mainly on survey, questioning, search and discovery, and it aims to develop students› various mental capacities. Furthermore, it relies partly or entirely on electronic sources in the web with the possibility of merging other sources such as, magazines, books, CDs or any other sources of knowledge. The web quest technique is considered educational structural pattern as centered on the discoverer learner, as well as it encourages team work and exchanging views and ideas among students with confirmation at the same time on the individualization of learning. In addition to developing the student›s thinking capabilities and building a researcher student who can assess himself, as well as providing an opportunity for students to explore the information instead of instructing it.
